The Alabama Social Media Association (ALsocme) is a professional nonprofit organization open to anyone who wishes to share ideas or advance their knowledge of social media and how it is used by businesses, organizations, and consumers.
ALsocme’s mission is education: empowering individuals, businesses and community organizations with social media tools and knowledge to help them meet their professional goals. ALsocme supports Alabama’s digital growth and works to grow its recognition as a technologically advanced and forward-thinking state.
We offer social events every month and educational meetings every other month. All are free and open to the public.

Committees
Five committees chaired by board members tend to all tasks within the organization.
Annual Conference, chaired by Jeff Vreeland: Handles all event aspects, including sponsors, venue, speakers, logistics, vendors, budget and tickets.
Finance, chaired by Wade Kwon: Recruits sponsors and manages organization budget and accounts.
Outreach, chaired by Erin Shaw Street: Manages partner relationships and crafts messages, media releases and other communication.
Programs and Education, chaired by Stacey Hood: Plans monthly educational and social events, including speakers and activities.
Technology, chaired by Michelle Amaral: Manages website, email and social media, plus technology set-up for events.
